Save and restore projects
A project keeps the decisions used for a crop and layout. By default, a new saved project contains parameters and source-file information; the original photo is a separate, explicit storage choice.
Save a layout
Give the project a name and save the settings. The local record includes the crop, print and paper choices, and information such as the source filename and dimensions. These details stay in this browser’s storage.
Select the option to include the original only if you want the photo bytes stored locally as well. They are kept in the browser’s image database and use additional space. An ordinary later save can retain an original already included; use the explicit remove-photo control to delete that stored image.
Download project JSON for a portable copy of the parameters. JSON never embeds the original image, thumbnail, or temporary blob URL, even when the local project has an included photo.
Open a saved file
Open a local project or import its versioned JSON. The tool validates the parameters before using them. If the original is not stored or cannot be read, choose the source photo again; a restored parameter set alone cannot produce a real preview.
Check the filename, dimensions, orientation, and visible scene after choosing a source. A different file with a similar name may not recreate the original crop. Reinspect the result before making another export.
Manage your files
Rename a project to make its purpose clear. Duplicate creates another set of layout parameters and source-file information; it does not silently duplicate a stored original. The new copy shows that its photo is not stored until you explicitly include one.
Delete a project or remove its stored photo when you no longer need it. Browser deletion does not remove files already downloaded to your device. Likewise, deleting a JSON download does not clear the local project.
Storage limits and recovery
The local project limit is 100 records, and imported project JSON is limited to 1 MiB. Browser quota and availability can impose additional limits. A save failure means the latest state was not saved; do not treat the previous record as a backup of unsaved changes.
You can continue calculating and downloading when persistent storage is unavailable. Keep the original and a downloaded parameter file in your own file storage for recovery. Browser storage can be cleared or evicted and is not a guaranteed backup.
