Sheet dimensions
ISO B5 gives a 6 × 8 inch image more surrounding room than A5 can provide. That can be useful when you want to preserve a 4:3 composition and include a border rather than changing to a narrower photo format.
| Measurement | Value |
|---|---|
| Millimetres | 176 × 250 |
| Centimetres | 17.6 × 25 |
| Inches (approximately) | 6.9291 × 9.8425 |
| Landscape millimetres | 250 × 176 |
A layout at actual size
Place a portrait 6 × 8 inch photo, measuring 152.4 × 203.2 mm, at the centre of ISO B5. The left and right spaces are 11.8 mm each, and the top and bottom spaces are 23.4 mm each. A 3000 × 4000 portrait source supplies 500 PPI within that image rectangle.
Margins and printing limits
A printer manual may use B5 to mean JIS B5. Do not choose the nearest-looking preset and rely on automatic scaling. Use a custom sheet if supported or change the layout to the exact format your device accepts.
The spaces in the example are calculated from the paper and image rectangles. They are not a device-specific margin recommendation. Match the PDF page to the loaded paper and check a physical calibration mark before relying on the final dimensions.
