Sheet dimensions
Specify the image at 5 × 7 inches and the sheet at A5 if both measurements matter. Choosing A5 as the image size would use a different aspect ratio and could change the crop. The border is the difference between the two rectangles.
| Measurement | Value |
|---|---|
| Millimetres | 148 × 210 |
| Centimetres | 14.8 × 21 |
| Inches (approximately) | 5.8268 × 8.2677 |
| Landscape millimetres | 210 × 148 |
A layout at actual size
A portrait 5 × 7 inch photo is 127 × 177.8 mm. Centred on A5, the image leaves 10.5 mm on each side and 16.1 mm at the top and bottom. This is a geometric layout; use your printer documentation to decide whether those margins are sufficient for the selected paper and feed mode.
Margins and printing limits
A 6 × 8 inch photo measures 152.4 × 203.2 mm. Although its long edge is shorter than A5’s 210 mm, its width exceeds 148 mm. Checking only the long edge would miss that mismatch. Choose A4 or deliberately reduce the image.
The spaces in the example are calculated from the paper and image rectangles. They are not a device-specific margin recommendation. Match the PDF page to the loaded paper and check a physical calibration mark before relying on the final dimensions.
