ISO B4 paper size and photo layouts

This B4 preset uses the ISO size: 250 × 353 mm. It is not JIS B4, which measures 257 × 364 mm. Check which definition appears in the printer or lab specification before selecting a preset.

Sheet dimensions

The name B4 alone can be ambiguous across equipment and markets. PrintLilt labels the catalog entry ISO B4 so the intended rectangle remains explicit. Enter custom dimensions when the job calls for the JIS sheet instead of quietly substituting one for the other.

A layout at actual size

An 8 × 12 inch portrait photo measures 203.2 × 304.8 mm. Centred on ISO B4, it leaves 23.4 mm at each side and 24.1 mm at the top and bottom. Those margins would be different on JIS B4, even though the menu name might look similar.

Margins and printing limits

A 10 × 12 image is 254 mm wide and therefore exceeds ISO B4’s 250 mm width. Do not let its shorter 304.8 mm height conceal the mismatch. Confirm the PDF page size and the printer’s selected media setting agree.

The spaces in the example are calculated from the paper and image rectangles. They are not a device-specific margin recommendation. Match the PDF page to the loaded paper and check a physical calibration mark before relying on the final dimensions.
