Sheet dimensions
Select portrait or landscape according to the layout rather than creating another sheet size. Compared with A3, Tabloid is narrower and longer in portrait. A layout with close margins can therefore fit one sheet and fail on the other.
| Measurement | Value |
|---|---|
| Millimetres | 279.4 × 431.8 |
| Centimetres | 27.94 × 43.18 |
| Inches (exact) | 11 × 17 |
| Landscape millimetres | 431.8 × 279.4 |
A layout at actual size
A portrait 8 × 12 inch photo centred on Tabloid leaves 1.5 inches at each side and 2.5 inches above and below. A 10 × 15 photo leaves only 0.5 inch at the sides and one inch vertically. Both examples preserve the exact photo dimensions rather than stretching the image to the sheet.
Margins and printing limits
An 11 × 14 inch image uses the full 11-inch width of this sheet and leaves no geometric side border. A printer that needs side margins cannot reproduce that particular placement without reducing the image or using a larger sheet.
The spaces in the example are calculated from the paper and image rectangles. They are not a device-specific margin recommendation. Match the PDF page to the loaded paper and check a physical calibration mark before relying on the final dimensions.
