Executive paper size and photo layouts

The Executive preset is 7.25 × 10.5 inches, exactly 184.15 × 266.7 mm. Keep the exact inch definition in calculations; rounding its width to 184.2 mm changes the underlying measurement.

Sheet dimensions

Use this preset only when the paper you actually have uses these dimensions. A named office format is a sheet specification, not an instruction to crop the photograph to that shape. Choose a smaller image rectangle and leave the surrounding area explicit.

A layout at actual size

A portrait 5 × 7 inch photo centred on Executive leaves 1.125 inches at the sides and 1.75 inches above and below. In millimetres, those spaces are 28.575 and 44.45. A 6 × 8 inch image also fits geometrically, with 0.625-inch side spaces and 1.25 inches vertically.

Margins and printing limits

This sheet is narrower than Letter, so do not transfer a close-fitting Letter grid without recalculating it. Select the actual media size in the printer dialog. If the device offers a different definition under a similar name, enter its measured custom dimensions.

The spaces in the example are calculated from the paper and image rectangles. They are not a device-specific margin recommendation. Match the PDF page to the loaded paper and check a physical calibration mark before relying on the final dimensions.
