Sheet dimensions
Choose A0 when the full-size image is too long or too wide for A1. Keep the page size separate from the photo size: a smaller image can sit on the sheet with an intentional border, and the PDF should preserve both measurements.
| Measurement | Value |
|---|---|
| Millimetres | 841 × 1,189 |
| Centimetres | 84.1 × 118.9 |
| Inches (approximately) | 33.1102 × 46.8110 |
| Landscape millimetres | 1,189 × 841 |
A layout at actual size
A portrait 24 × 36 inch photo measures 609.6 × 914.4 mm. Centred on A0, it leaves 115.7 mm on each side and 137.3 mm at the top and bottom. That layout fits geometrically without shrinking the photo; printer support and usable margins remain separate checks.
Margins and printing limits
For a large output, check that the PDF viewer reports A0 rather than a substituted Letter or A4 page. Use actual-size printing and verify a calibration mark before committing to the full sheet. A small on-screen preview cannot show the final print at its real scale.
The spaces in the example are calculated from the paper and image rectangles. They are not a device-specific margin recommendation. Match the PDF page to the loaded paper and check a physical calibration mark before relying on the final dimensions.
